Estrogen Dominance
Natural progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum after ovulation and balances the side effects of otherwise unopposed oestrogen. Under influences of anovulatory cycles, menopause stress and dietary antagonists, progesterone production ceases or is suppressed and the effects of Oestrogen Dominance, can be observed. Many women experience otherwise unexplained weight gain from the lack of progesterone that is required for proper thyroid function.
It is also important that we distinguish Natural Progesterone from Yam Extract and from its counterparts in the drug industry - PROGESTINS.
Although these drugs are commonly referred to as progesterone, this is a misnomer, they are synthetic. In some ways they mimic the effects of progesterone in the body, but in other important ways they gravely interfere with natural progesterone and can create and exacerbate hormone related health problems, and be a primary contributor to the condition referred to as Oestrogen Dominance, some symptoms of which include:
Increased Body Fat Interference with Thyroid Hormone Activity Depression Headaches Lack of Energy Salt and Fluid Retention Bloating Blood Sugar Irregularities Reduced Oxygen, all Cells Decreased Libido (Sex Drive) Loss of Zinc/Retention of Copper Excessive Blood Clotting Increased Risk of Breast Cancer Reduced Vascular Tone Increased Risk of Endometrial Cancer Endometriosis Uterine Cramping Infertility Restraint of Osteoclast Bone Building Function Aging Acceleration Dry Eyes/Dry or Coarse Skin Allergies (Asthma, Rashes, Sinus etc) Early Menstruation Onset Anger/Irritability Fibrocystic Breasts Breast Tenderness Gallbladder Disease Breast Swelling Breast Tenderness Hair Loss Poor Hair Condition
Cervical dysplasia Acute Headaches/Migraines Cold Hands and Feet Fatigue Foggy Thinking Cravings for Sweets/Candy Hypoglycaemia Increased Risk of Autoimmune Disorders PMT/PMS Irregular Periods Insomnia Restlessness Panic Attacks Polycystic Ovaries Prostate Cancer Joint Pain Muscle Pain Lethargy Weakness Sluggish Metabolism Unexplained Weight Gain Despite Dieting and Exercise Loss of Esteem Unexplained Anxiousness Anxiety Attacks Mood Swings Slurred or Slow Speech Magnesium Deficiency Uterine Cancer Miscarriage Osteoporosis Uterine Fibroids Vertigo Premenopausal Bone Loss Zinc Deficiency
When comparing the above list of Oestrogen ill-effects to the benefits of Natural Progesterone a near one-to-one correlation is observed.
